“We’ve got Salah ….” – catchy chant pops up in unlikely location

Anfield Stadium

“Salah! …”

Need I say more? You already know what comes next.

Kevin Murphy (or Richy Sheehy), Cork’s self professed ‘biggest Liverpool fan – became an internet sensation over night with his infuriatingly catchy tune that pays homage to Kop favourites Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Sang to the chorus of The Archies’ 1960s classic, Sugar Sugar, the new Anfield terrace anthem goes as follows:

“Salah! Do doo doodoo doo doo!
“Oh, Mané Mané! Do doo doodoo doo doo!
“Ro-ber-to Fir-mi-nooo… and we sold Coutinho!”

Sheehy’s tune has and landed the Irishman spots on Soccer AM, The Ray D’Arcy Show and more, and has near enough the whole nation – Liverpool fans or not – signing along in jest.

The Archies’ cover has now even made it’s way to McDonald’s, with some wise-cracking fans using a clever twist to torment to Maccies employees.

How long before it stops? I’m sure Sheehy will hope it won’t be anytime soon …
