Liverpool, Manchester City and AC Milan are all interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The journalist claims that the Swiss international could be available for between €35m (£30.6m) and €40m (£35m) in January:
X News #Okafor: Transfer in winter is possible! No negotiations now but there’s is an interest from clubs like #MCFC, #LFC & AC Milan. Been told that United is not in. World Cup very important now. Price tag could be around €35-40m. Top season with Salzburg so far. @SkySportDE🇨🇭 pic.twitter.com/Lqx0xmznQ4

Okafor has also been linked with Arsenal in recent months, but Plettenberg doesn’t mention the Gunners, whilst he also denies interest from Manchester United. Considering Liverpool’s main problems are in midfield, fans on Twitter have questioned why the club are pursuing a forward:
What? He's not a midfielder.

He's right footed CF who can play both wings but more comfortable on the left
Like Jota
We need someone left footed like Jota and it's maybe Moukoukou— Aleko Zoidze (@aleko_zoidze) November 15, 2022

There is no doubt that Okafor is a talented young player. He scored three goals in six Champions League group games this season, including one against Chelsea.
However, the Reds are not exactly short of options upfront. As a striker, he would be competing with Darwin Nunez, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota for a place in the starting lineup. He can also play out wide, but his preference would still be the left wing, which is Luis Diaz’s position.
