‘What, Really?’ ‘Oh Wow’ ‘Get Him In The Summer’ ‘We Are COOKING’ Liverpool Fans Excited As Romano Provides Big Transfer Update

Liverpool did make an approach for RB Leipizig defender Josko Gvardiol during the January transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Journalist says that the Reds, Chelsea and Manchester City are all interested in signing the Croatian international:

“Chelsea remain interested in Josko Gvardiol, he’s a player they really appreciate. Other clubs are now in the race as well, with Liverpool approaching Leipzig over Gvardiol in January, and Manchester City are absolutely in the race too, Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the player. Everything is open, but it’s never easy to get a deal done with Leipzig, still I think he could be one of the big deals of the summer.”

Fans on Twitter are hoping that Liverpool’s enquiry for Gvardiol in January will lead to them making a formal offer in the summer:

The big stumbling block to a deal will be the centre-back’s asking price. Gvardiol does have a Β£97m release clause in his contract but that only comes into effect in 2024.

It means Leipzig can effectively ask for whatever they want from clubs if bids are made at the end of the season. The Reds would almost certainly have to break their transfer record to get him and there is even a possibility that they may have to spend nine figures. It’s hard to imagine them doing that, especially if they are also keen on signing Jude Bellingham, but we shall see how this plays out.
