5. Diogo Jota – Liverpool
Our first player is a Liverpool striker, but it isn’t Darwin Nunez. Diogo Jota has missed the fifth-most frequent big chances in the Premier League over the past three years.
The stats say that Jota missed an average of 0.70 big chances per 90 minutes he’s played in the league, which amounts to a lot once you total up the fact that he has played over 120 Premier League games since joining from Wolves in 2020.
In that time, Jota has scored 47 goals however, which works out at 0.38 goals per game, which for a centre-forward rather than an out and out striker is fairly impressive.
The Portuguese attacker has just two years left on his contract at Liverpool, and he has been linked with a move away after an injury-prone season for the 28-year-old.
