“Who Knows?” Klopp Makes Worrying Statement About Key Liverpool Star’s Fitness Ahead Of Leeds Clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is still not sure whether Thiago Alcantara will be available for this weekend’s game against Leeds.

The Spaniard has missed the last two matches versus Nottingham Forest and Ajax with an ear infection and, when asked if he expects the midfielder to be sidelined again on Saturday, Klopp replied:

“I hope not but who knows?”

Thiago’s fitness record since moving to Anfield in 2020 is pretty poor. He has missed 52 matches due to injury and illness, which is over a third of the fixtures that Liverpool have played.

Considering he has become a key player for the Reds’, his absence has certainly contributed to the club’s inconsistent form in the Premier League this season.

It must be a source of great frustration for Klopp that he can’t field Thiago on a regular basis, especially considering all of the other injuries that the squad have suffered over the course of the last few months.
