“Why Wouldn’t I?” World Cup Star Lays Out His Transfer Stance Amid Interest From Liverpool, Arsenal And Chelsea

Ajax attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus has declared that he is open to signing a new contract with his current club.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were all credited with an interest in the 22-year-old earlier this month, along with Tottenham, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Ghanaian, who starred for the Black Stars at the World Cup, says he is more than happy to remain in the Netherlands after becoming a regular starter in recent months:

“I am very happy at Ajax at the moment, but I will be even happier if we win the double. Why wouldn’t I want to renew? I play and develop well. Now it’s about negotiation and valuation. When the time is right, we’ll see how it goes. But that will have to be conducted with my agent. I want to focus entirely on the title race.”

Kudus has been in great form for Ajax this campaign, racking up 18 goals and providing five assists in 36 appearances.

Since Jonny Heitinga replaced Alfred Schreuder in the hot seat at the Eredivisie champions, Kudus has played mostly as a right winger and it has really suited his game. Considering he is left-footed, he could be someone that is being considered as a long-term replacement for Mo Salah. For now, though, it appears he will be staying where he is.
