Wijnaldum To Start, Milner To Drop Out: Liverpool’s Predicted Line Up To Face Chelsea

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp won’t have been too disappointed with the performance against Napoli despite losing 2-0 in their Champions League group stage match on Tuesday.

The Reds boss is unlikely to make too many changes from that defeat, with the backline of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson now firmly established as first choice.

Adrian will continue to deputise in goal with Alisson Becker still out with a calf injury. The Brazilian is now only expected to return to action after the next international break.

In midfield, Klopp gave Georginio Wijnaldum a rest for the game midweek, and he is expected to replace James Milner. There is a case to be made for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to come into the starting line up but Klopp seems to prefer the trio of Henderson, Fabinho and Wijnaldum for big games now.

There will be no argument over who will start up front. Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will provide a stern test for Chelsea’s shaky backline and all will want to get on the scoresheet at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Chelsea:

Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane
