Williams And Brewster To Start, Tsimikas And Firmino On The Bench: Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Arsenal

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted that he sees the Community Shield as part of his preseason rather than a competitive fixture, but the Reds will be keen to get another trophy under their belt when they face Arsenal tomorrow.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s absence from the training camp in Austria due to a minor injury means Neco Williams is favourite to start at right-back. With Joel Matip still sidelined, Klopp only has two fit centre-backs so Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk are expected to play.

Fans will be keen to see new signing Kostas Tsimikas get a runout at Wembley, but Andy Robertson is likely to be given the nod to start ahead of the Greek international, as Klopp goes with a tried and tested backline.

In midfield, the absence of Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain through injury means it will be a straight fight between James Milner and Naby Keita for a place in the starting eleven alongside Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Considering Keita’s excellent form at the end of the last season, the Guinean international may be handed another chance to impress ahead of the new campaign.

Following Rhian Brewster’s excellent performances in the two preseason friendlies, the 20-year-old could be rewarded with a start alongside Sadio Mane and Mo Salah. Roberto Firmino may, therefore, be left on the bench.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Arsenal:

Alisson, Williams, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Keita, Salah, Brewster, Mane
