Ex-Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has dismissed comparisons between Liverpool midfielder Fabinho and Declan Rice, claiming that the England international is the better player out of the two.

Taking to Twitter yesterday, Wilshere challenged his followers to come up with a superior defensive midfielder than the West Ham star. When one suggested Fabinho, he replied:

There is a lot of hype around Rice at the moment and, while the 23-year-old is undoubtedly a top class player, he has not proven himself in the biggest stage of club football yet.

In contrast, Fabinho has won the Champions League, the Premier League, the UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup and Carabao Cup over the past few years, and yet Wilshere inisists Rice has more to his game.

All this talk will certainly help the player’s valuation. West Ham have reportedly slapped a £150m price tag on the midfielder, who is being tracked by the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
