Liverpool will want to recover quickly from their first defeat of the season in the league when they face Wolves in the FA Cup on Monday night.

Jurgen Klopp’side will be glad to have an extra day’s rest heading into the game at Molineux, and they may not make as many changes as expected.

Wolves will be a tough test, and the Reds 2-0 victory in the league last month was hard fought so the Merseysiders will be anticipating another difficult game.

Much may depend, however, on Nuno Espirito Santo’s selection choices for the game. They have been through an intensive fixture schedule over Christmas, but they will have a week to prepare for their next game against Manchester City.

Liverpool have just four players out injured with James Milner having recovered from a hamstring problem. Joel Matip (broken collarbone), Joe Gomez (fractured leg), Dominic Solanke (groin) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) remain out of contention.

Wolves have two slight doubts for the match. Romain Saiss has a knee injury while Diogo Jota is recovering his fitness after a hamstring strain. Both players could be ready to start for Monday’s encounter.

The bookmakers have made the Reds favourites to come out on top. They are 10/11 with Betway while a draw is 14/5 with Bet365. A victory for Wolves is currently priced at 7/2 with Unibet.
