Wolves Vs Liverpool: Premier League Preview

2022/23 has been a disappointing season for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp so far. After 19 games, the Reds sit 9th in the table, below the likes of Brighton, Fulham and Brentford.

They will, therefore, be happy to be up against a side who have also underperformed this year – Wolves. The Midlands team have experienced an upturn in form under Julen Lopetegui, but still remain 17th in the table, just outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Liverpool could find themselves struggling for centre backs in this game. Virgil Van Dijk remains absent, with Ibrahima Konate joining him on treatment table. Alongside this, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and former Wolves player Diogo Jota are also unavailable due to injury.

Wolves, on the other hand, could hand their newest signing Joao Gomes his debut in the game on Saturday. The Brazilian starlet was bought by Wolves in January for around £16.5 million, having been previously linked with Liverpool.

The two clubs have played each other twice this season, but have yet to face each other in the league. They drew 2-2 in the FA Cup third round, with Liverpool winning the replay 1-0 at Molineux.
