Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho could be sold for less than €100m (£87m) this summer, according to reports in the German media.
The 21-year-old has been touted as a potential replacement for Mo Salah at Liverpool, while Manchester United tried to sign him last year.
Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed they are willing to sell Sancho at the end of the season, having previously reached an understanding with the player:
“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions. He’s been with us for a couple of years.”
Fans on Twitter would certainly be open to the Reds entering the battle to sign the England international but they are aware that the club are unlikely to have the funds to complete the deal:
Worth it!

Buying sancho will set us up for a lot of yrs. I think this transfer is dependent on the structure of the deal.

Sure, and apparently Ronaldo and Messi in the mix too. Every other day new “alleged” signings arise. When the jersey is on the back of the player and he is signing the contract … I will celebrate.

As if John Henry pays 86 million he wouldn’t give klopp money in January for a defender sure ?♂️?♂️???

Would pay up to £75m max! for Sancho, taking into account Covid + The poor start he had to this season & that his contract only runs to 2023, £75m is more than a fair price for a player they paid just over £7m for #YNWA

No way we’re paying that

Thought it’d be worse. Let’s hope Dortmund don’t get CL because it’s force them to sell him.

I think it’s fair to say that any deal for Sancho would be reliant on Salah being sold, and with the global health crisis having hit club finances hard, Liverpool are unlikely to receive an offer for the Egyptian international that would be worth considering.
