Liverpool have been making enquires ahead of a potential summer bid for West Ham captain Declan Rice, according to reports in the English media.
The Reds are said to be looking around for alternatives after withdrawing from the race to sign Jude Bellingham.
Rice has already been suggested as a possible target and, with the interest in the England international appearing to be serious, fans on Twitter have been debating whether he would be a good purchase:

Spend £75-80m on Rice but not £120m on Jude #FSGLogic

Depends on the price

As some supporters have pointed out, a lot depends on Rice’s price tag. If he is indeed available for £75m, as some reports have suggested, then he would be worth the fee.
Considering Bellingham would cost almost double the amount, you wouldn’t be getting half the player in Rice. In fact, he could well be the ideal replacement for Fabinho, whose form has dropped off a cliff over the past twelve months.
However, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United having also being linked with Rice, there are concerns that his valuation could rise to around £100m, which would make any deal unrealistic.
