Liverpool and Juventus are monitoring Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount‘s contract negotiations, according to reports in the English media.
The 23-year-old has just over eighteen months left on his current deal and discussions over an extension have been put on hold until after the World Cup.
If there is no breakthrough in talks, Chelsea may have to consider offloading Mount, with the Reds seemingly keen on recruiting him. Fans on Twitter are very much split on whether the England star would be a good addition to the squad:
Would be decent signing IMO

LOL An overrated player.
Even Chels fans hate Mason Mount. Why would we want him?— Kim (@CzToon) November 17, 2022
Quality player nice to be linked to a top player for a change.

Not been on form lately, but I think he’d be a good signing for us

First things first. The likelihood of Mount leaving Stamford Bridge is pretty low. Although negotiations over a new contract may have stalled, there is still a strong chance that he will put pen to paper on an extension.
If, for some reason, an agreement can’t be found, though, Liverpool would be foolish not to consider the possibility of signing Mount. Both his work rate and technical ability mean he would be a good fit for the Reds’ midfield, and the fact that he is a major goal threat would be an added bonus.
