‘Would Be Interested’ Reporter Claims Shock Return For Ex Liverpool Star Could Be On The Cards

Barcelona president Joan Laporta intends to sell Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window and Liverpool could be in contention to sign him, according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda.

Sharing his thoughts on the Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, Inda suggested that the Reds “would be interested” in taking him back to Anfield:

Whether Inda’s sources are reliable or not, it is anyone’s guess. Fans are probably wise to take what he says with a large pinch of salt.

Coutinho has been regularly linked with a return to the Reds, and there has also been speculation about moves to Newcastle, Leicester and Arsenal over the past twelve months.

Injuries and poor form have meant he has never really reached his potential at the Camp Nou, and while some fans would welcome him back to Merseyside, others are still not very happy about the way the Brazilian forced his way out of the club. We shall see if there is any substance to this story when the window reopens in the New Year.
