Liverpool are still in the race for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
On Monday, it was reported that the Reds are unlikely to win the battle for the teenager’s signature, with Real Madrid and Manchester City now the favourites. However, Romano has made it clear that Jurgen Klopp’s side have not withdrawn their interest:
“Jude Bellingham has not made a final decision yet. The situation remains open; it was not done with Liverpool in December and January despite many rumours, and it’s not off now.”
While some supporters on Twitter are delighted to hear Romano’s remarks, many are now getting tired of the whole transfer saga:
Yes!!!! I knew this!

The finances required to sign Bellingham were always going to be the main problem for Liverpool and it appears that has led to them dropping back behind Real and City in the race for the 19-year-old.
Of course, as Romano says, it doesn’t mean that a move to Anfield has been ruled out but the chances of it happening are not as high as they once were. They have been relegated, along with Chelsea and Manchester United, to alternative options that Bellingham may consider if the favourites can’t agree a deal with Dortmund.
