34M Rated Real Madrid Star Set To Turn Down Liverpool Due To Presence Of Four Players

Anfield Stadium

Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio will likely reject a move to Liverpool as he doesn’t want to be a squad player, according to reports in Spain.

The 26-year-old has a year left on his contract at the Bernabeu and Real are said to be prepared to let him leave this summer if a club matches their €40m (£34m) asking price.

Despite reports that Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in Asensio, it is believed that Liverpool and AC Milan are the two teams likeliest to make an offer for the Spanish international.

After spending the last few years in and out of Real’s first team, though, Asensio doesn’t want to risk the same thing happening at this next club.

The prospect of competing with Darwin Nunez, Mo Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz for a place in the starting eleven at Liverpool does not appeal to him so, if Milan can meet his salary demands, he is expected to end up moving to the Serie A champions instead.
