42M Rated Portuguese Midfield General Set To Hold Out For Liverpool Or City Despite Approach From Another PL Club

Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes is unlikely to make a move to Wolves, as he is waiting for offers from Liverpool or Manchester City, according to reports in Portugal.

The 23-year-old has been linked with the Reds over the course of the summer, with City and Chelsea having also been credited with an interest in the player.

However, up until now, Wolves were the team who looked the likeliest to make a formal bid for Nunes, as they seek to add to their Portuguese contingent at the club.

The player appears to have other ideas, and it looks as if Liverpool could have the perfect opportunity to sign him before the transfer window closes.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have injury problems in midfield and Nunes could well be seen as a solution. He is not expected to cost a huge amount either. Although the Portuguese international does have a €60m (£50.5m) release clause, it’s widely believed that Sporting would be willing to part ways for €50m (£42m).
