Liverpool are interested in signing either Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez or RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano this summer, according to reports.
The centre-back trio are all relatively young but have experience of playing in the Champions League, which would make them realistic targets, but supporters on Twitter can’t quite decide which would be the best signing:
Both upamecano and Gimenez are fantastic centre back but they come with a hefty price tag we would be better off with Ben white, malang sarr,b Kamara less price tag but has potential to reach world class tag

Lmao….y'all wyling if you think Upamecano and Gimenez will come here to be 4th choice CB ???
Would be much safer promoting Hoever or buying some young CB whose not ready for first team.

Bastoni has had a great season. Keeping Godin out of the Inter team but Italians tend to not do as well in England.

Gimenez is good but VERY injury prone. No exaggeration to say he misses around 20 games a season through injury

It would be good if we could go for Jose Gimenez of Athletico Madrid or Diego Carlos of Servilla. Then if that doesnt work we could go for Ben White at Leeds United at a cheaper fee

Dejan Lovren is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season so a new centre-half will likely be needed.
Out of the three options, Gimenez is the most experienced but also the most prone to injury, while Upamecano would probably cost around £45m to £50m to sign.
Bastoni has had a very good season with Inter and has kept the experienced Diego Godin out of the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven, but there are question marks in terms of his consistency.
In any case, it does appear likely that Liverpool will be in the market for a new defender ahead of next campaign.
