Liverpool are considering making a bid for Besiktas centre-back Demogoj Vida when the transfer window opens, according to reports in Turkey.
The Reds are said to be looking for cover for Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, and they see the 31-year-old as a cheap alternative who could provide a decent option in the short term.
Vida has been partnering Dejan Lovren in the middle of Croatia’s defence for a number of years, and fans on Twitter don’t understand why Liverpool would swap one for the other:

Manager Jurgen Klopp does have previous for bringing in an experienced centre-half at a relatively low cost. Ragnar Klavan was signed from Augsburg for just £4.2m in 2016.
Vida certainly has the requisite experience of playing at the highest level, having played in a World Cup final but, with the likes of Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg in the squad, you would have thought offering younger players a chance to play would be seen as a better solution.
