‘On Top Of His Game’ Pundit Praises Liverpool Superstar In Recent Interview

Former footballer turned pundit Robbie Earle gave out some high praise to Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson for his excellent form in the Premier League so far this season.

He used Liverpool’s most recent game against Tottenham Hotspur, which was marred by a slew of controversial referee decisions, as an example. In that game, Alisson made some mind-boggling stops – even though his efforts could not save the Reds from defeat.

Earle believes that Alisson is ‘on top of his game’ at the moment, noting his excellent form over the course of the Premier League season so far.

As things stand, Alisson has the third-best save percentage in the Premier League, just behind Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez and Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario.

During his playing career, Earle turned out for both Port Vale and Wimbledon – he also made eight international appearances for Jamaica, scoring a single goal.

What did Robbie Earle say regarding Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson?

Speaking about Alisson on NBC Sport, Earle said: “Alisson, by the way came up with two or three magnificent, magnificent saves that many keepers in the [Premier] league don’t get near.

“His form recently, Newcastle away [with a] brilliant save [against] Almiron, last weekend [he made a] brilliant save again. He’s back sharp, [he’s] on top of his game.”

Is Alisson the best goalkeeper in the world?

Currently, we would struggle to name a goalkeeper in world football who is superior to Alisson. He can do it all – his shot-stopping is incredible, he is authoritative in his area and his general play is also top notch.

Only elite talents such as Thibaut Courtois, Gianluca Donnarumma and Diogo Costa can hold a candle to the talents of Brazil’s number one. Even then, we feel that Alisson tops the lot.

Eyebrows were raised when Jurgen Klopp brought him to Anfield for a massive transfer fee of £66.8 million from Roma – nevertheless, he has proven himself to be worth every penny that the Reds paid for him.

It is a shame that Alisson’s performance against Spurs isn’t receiving more attention – though it’s also unsurprising, given the media circus surrounding the baffling VAR decisions made on the day by Darren England and Daniel Coote.
