“As Things Stand…” Romano Provides New Update As Liverpool, Chelsea And Arsenal Are Linked With Ivorian Star

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has not made a final decision on his future, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

It has been reported that the Ivorian international will turn down a new contract in order to move to a bigger club. Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have been touted as potential destinations but Romano says the player is still weighing up his options:

“Wilfried Zaha has not made any decision yet on his future. Crystal Palace have informed him of the intention to offer a new deal, but in this case, it’s only up to Zaha and he has not decided yet. I think he could be an interesting solution for many big six clubs, but he needs to play regularly; it’s really important for him. As things stand, he could be a free agent next summer and that’s a great opportunity for many clubs, but le’s see what happens in the next few months.”

Zaha’s availability on a free transfer next summer could tempt the Reds into making a move for him. While the club usually focus their efforts on recruiting younger players, they are not averse to snapping up older stars on the cheap.

Over the years, they have secured the services of the likes of Ragnar Klavan, Xherdan Shaqiri and Thiago to fill problem areas, so an approach for Zaha is not beyond the realms of possibility.

Considering that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp already has Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota who play in Zaha’s favoured position on the left wing, though, it’s unlikely that the 29-year-old will be a priority target.
