Chelsea V Liverpool: Match Preview And Betting Odds

Liverpool will want to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible following their defeat to Napoli midweek. Their opponents Chelsea will also head into the game off the back of a disappointing home loss to Valencia and the Reds will be hoping to exploit the London club’s poor form at Stamford Bridge so far this season.

Manager Frank Lampard has yet to win at home following draws against Leicester and Sheffield United, and his young side have been pretty inconsistent in the first few games of the campaign. They were, though, a force to be reckoned with in the Super Cup final and Jurgen Klopp will be wary of the threat they will pose.

Naby Keita should be fit for the game after recovering from a thigh injury, but Alisson Becker (calf), Divock Origi (ankle) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee) remain sidelined.

Chelsea have a number of injury problems with the likes Mason Mount (ankle), Emerson (thigh), Antonio Rudiger (groin) and N’Golo Kante (ankle) all doubts for the match. Callum Hudson-Odoi (Achilles) and Reece James (ankle) are back in contention, though.

The bookmakers have made Liverpool slight favourites despite being the away side. They are evens to win at Betway with a draw is 14/5 with BetVictor. A victory for Chelsea is 14/5 at 888 Sport.
