Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is closing in on a return to full training, the club have confirmed. The Guinean international has barely featured this season after sustaining a groin problem in training before the UEFA Super Cup.
He is now expected to be fit after the game against Napoli in the Champions League next Tuesday, with a place in the matchday squad likely for the Premier League clash against Chelsea.
Fans on Twitter are hoping that Keita manages to avoid more injuries after twelve months blighted with fitness problems:

It has been a frustrating time for the 24-year-old since his £52.75m switch from RB Leipzig, and he needs to stay fit for an extended period in order to force his way into the first team.
Keita’s last game for the Reds was in the Community Shield against Manchester City back in early August, when he came on as a substitute for the last 25 minutes of the penalty shootout defeat.
