Leicester City are very close to signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka, according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist claims the Foxes were the only team to have made an official bid for the Zambian international, with neither Liverpool nor Chelsea having made contact about the player:
Patson Daka is set to join Leicester, done deal. The official proposal has been accepted by RB Salzburg board today and #LCFC are planning to announce the new signing next week. Here we go soon! ?? #Daka
No Liverpool, Chelsea, Leipzig for Daka. Advanced today by @mcgrathmike.

Daka had also been linked with Arsenal and West Ham in recent weeks, but it appears Leicester moved quickly to snap up the 22-year-old, who scored 34 goals in all competitions for Salzburg last season.
Whether Liverpool were ever in for the striker, we’ll probably never know. The Merseyside club are expected to make a move for a forward this summer but there is no clear no.1 target following the news about Daka.
PSV Eindhoven’s Donyell Malen has been mentioned as a potential option in recent days while reports in Spain have also said that Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak is being tracked.
