Liverpool are interested in re-signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, according to reports in the French media.
The Brazilian playmaker could be offloaded by Barca as they look to finance deals for new signings, and it appears the Reds have joined Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in monitoring the player’s situation.
Supporters on Twitter had a decidedly mixed reaction to the news that Liverpool may consider bringing back Coutinho:
Don't believe it. No way back.

Hmmm 80 M would be good deal

A one year loan with option to buy would be a great deal. He sits on the bench and plays his way into the team. Who else to bring on when we are chasing that goal. He is capable of the magic and if he becomes unplayable then sign him. That is the only type of deal the club does.

Coutinho has admitted that he doesn’t know if he will be at Barcelona next campaign, but he says he’s only focused on the Copa America at the moment:
“I don’t know if I will continue at Barcelona. Nobody knows about the future, and right now I am focused on playing with my [national] team.”
The 27-year-old struggled during his first full season in Spain, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 50 appearances.
Whether Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would sanction a bid for the Brazilian, it seems doubtful. Barca would likely want to recoup as much of the £142m they paid as possible and the Reds would likely only consider a deal for a fraction of the price.
