“Everything I Hear Suggests…” Journalist Reveals Liverpool Could Miss Out To Rival For 21M Defender

Inter Milan are likely to beat Liverpool and other Premier League clubs in the race to sign Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Reliable reports have confirmed the Reds have been keeping tabs on the Brazilian, while Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest, but Jones says a move to Inter is the likeliest possibility:

“He’s a great player, but everything I hear suggests he’s going to sign for a big Italian club, and at this stage, he’s probably going to Inter Milan. That’s the noises that I’m hearing.”

Considering Liverpool already have four top-class centre-backs in Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez anyway, it is hard to see where Bremer would fit in.

The Merseyside club could simply be looking at contingency plans if someone like Gomez does leave in search of first-team football. With Bremer reportedly available for around €25m (£21m), he would certainly be an economical replacement.

From the sound of things, though, it does appear that Inter are the firm favourites to secure the 25-year-old’s signature this summer.
