Don Hutchinson Names 3 Serie A Stars (Worth A Combined £343M) Who Liverpool Could Sign To Replace Nunez

Ex-Liverpool player Don Hutchinson believes his former club should consider buying AC Milan winger Rafael Leao and Napoli pair Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer.

There has been a lot of debate among fans regarding the future of Darwin Nunez, following his travails in front of goal this season, and Hutchinson says the Reds could look to the transfer market for potential solutions:

“I think Liverpool have got a conundrum. Do they see him (Darwin Nunez) as a number 9 or do they need him as someone who is going to be brilliant off the left-hand side?”

“I think at some point, depending on how much Liverpool have got in the summer to spend, there are players out there that can improve Liverpool.”

“Rafa Leao at Milan is an unbelievable player, Kvaratskhelia at Napoli is the same, Osimhen I have always loved, so there are players out there. But that’s a lot of money. So it depends on how Liverpool actually see it and how they view the player.”

All three players would be extremely expensive purchases for Liverpool

Reports suggest that Leao has a €175m (£148m) release clause in his contract; a fee which is over 1.5 times more than the Reds’ current transfer record.

Osimhen (who has a buyout fee in the €130m/£110m range) and Kvaratsheklia (who is valued at €100m /£85m) wouldn’t be much cheaper either.

Rival clubs are also circling the trio

It should also be pointed out that Osimhen and Leao, in particular, are being targeted by Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue One club are likely to spend big this summer as they seek a replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

In terms of rival Premier League teams, the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are known to be coveting Osimhen, while Manchester City are said to be keeping close tabs on Kvaratskhelia.
