Ex Liverpool Star Leaves Trabzonspor After Just Eight Months In Turkey

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has ended his stay at Trabzonspor after just eight months, with his three-year deal at the Turkish club being terminated by mutual consent.

The former England international left Anfield after six and a half years on Merseyside in the summer, and he had made 16 appearances for Trabzonspor this campaign, scoring seven times and contributing four assists.

It is not known why Sturridge was let go, but the forward has continued to suffer with fitness problems this season. The 30-year-old has had Achilles and thigh muscle problems, and he missed the 5-2 win over Rizespor at the weekend due to a toe injury.

Whether he will now return to play in the UK, we shall have to wait and see, but as he is available on a free transfer, he could well join another club outside of the transfer window.

During his time at Liverpool, Sturridge made 160 appearances in all competitions, scoring 68 goals.
