Fabrizio Romano Provides New Update On Liverpool’s Pursuit Of Chelsea Star

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has downplayed reports linking Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger with a move to Liverpool.

It was claimed that the German international could be on the Reds’ radar with his contract expiring at the end of the season, but Romano says the Merseyside club have so far not held talks with the 28-year-old’s representatives:

“On Liverpool, I’m told they have made no approach to his agents.”

To be honest, it was a huge surprise when Liverpool’s name was mentioned in connection with Rudiger earlier this week. Manager Jurgen Klopp already has five senior centre-backs in his squad and is unlikely to be looking for another.

From the sound of things, it is looking more and more likely that the player will leave Stamford Bridge with Romano stating that there is “no agreement” over a contract extension.

Teams other than Liverpool are, though, thought to be interested with Manchester City, Tottenham, Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all reportedly in the frame.
