Ian Rush
Ian Rush is widely regarded as one of the best British strikers of all time – however, when the Premier League era rolled along, the Welsh hitman had gone beyond his prime years.
When playing at the peak of his abilities, Rush was the archetypal pacy hitman. His quickness, coupled with his clinical nature in front of goal, made him a lethal centre forward who arguably is the best pure finisher to have played for the Reds.
While he wasn’t at his best during the Premier League era, he was still a force to be reckoned with. Outside of Liverpool, Rush also played for Newcastle United under Kenny Dalglish.
