Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has backed Liverpool to win their last two games and put maximum pressure on Manchester United and Newcastle in the battle for Champions League places.

The Reds won 3-0 against Leicester on Monday evening which means they are now just one point adrift of fourth and, asked about the race for the top four, Neville says Jurgen Klopp’s side will not make it easy for their rivals:

“They are going to have to make sure they do their job properly as Liverpool will win their two games. Manchester United and Newcastle have got to forget the idea that Liverpool are going to drop points, as if they don’t do their job they will slip out of the top four.”

With both United and Newcastle having a game in hand, Liverpool remain outsiders to secure Champions League qualification, but they are the team that has the momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

Klopp’s men have now recorded seven wins in a row, which is by far their best run of results in the league this campaign. The best they had managed previously was a four-game winning streak and, even that came either side of the World Cup.
