Liverpool may consider going after Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, according to reports in the English media.
The 18-year-old has turned down a new deal with his current club and could well be available this summer. Real Madrid and Manchester United are also believed to be interested in the Frenchman but the Reds could offer first-team football to the player, which could swing things in their favour.
Camavinga has been labelled the ‘new Vieira’ by some sections of the press, who liken his style of play to the former Arsenal star, and he could still cost a fair amount despite his contract expiring in 12 months time. Even so, fans on Twitter think he would be worth the outlay:
Get him.

Could be a great or bad idea. His ability to intercept the ball is good but he’s having a difficult season right now…

There is no doubt that the teenager has massive potential, and Liverpool’s recruitment department are likely to be keeping a close eye on him. Much will depend on the club’s priorities and the money available.
A new centre-half and a forward are likely to be higher up on the list than another midfielder, but we shall see how things develop over the summer.
