‘I Hope It Is Not True’ ‘All Good Things Must Come To An End’ Liverpool Fans On Social Media React To Klopp Remarks

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested he may leave the club and retire in the next few years once he has fulfilled his ambitions with the Reds.

The German was picking up the manager of the year award at an event in his homeland when he was asked what the future holds for him. The Reds boss replied he could look to see out his contract at Anfield:

“I hope to continue like this, but in two, three years I don’t know what may happen. Maybe I’ll retire! It doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen, however, but if that were the case, you wouldn’t be surprised.”

Needless to say, supporters on Twitter were disappointed that Klopp may not be staying for longer:

Klopp would have managed Liverpool for almost seven years when his contract expires in 2022. Considering he managed Mainz and Borussia Dortmund for the same length of time, it appears likely that he’ll do the same with the Reds.

Of course, that will depend on results, but with the success that the club have had under his management, he would be welcome to stay well beyond his current deal.
