‘I Would Take Him Every Day Of The Week’ ‘Very, Very Mid’ Fans Discuss Reports That Liverpool Could Pursue Mexican Midfield Enforcer

Liverpool are tracking Ajax holding midfielder Edson Alvarez, according to reports in the UK.

The Mexican international, who has also been a target for Chelsea and West Ham in the past, is an option that the Reds are considering as they look to revamp the midfield next summer.

Alvarez has had a pretty poor season for Ajax in the Eredivisie and Liverpool’s interest has led to a mixed reaction among supporters on Twitter:

It should be noted that Alvarez was a centre-back who has been converted into a midfielder so he would very much be a target if manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to replace Fabinho.

The Brazilian international has had a torrid season and there has been some talk that the Reds may choose to offload him at the end of the season, although that hasn’t been substantiated by reliable sources. It is also debatable whether Alvarez would be much of an upgrade, considering his struggles this campaign.
