Klopp Names Three Chelsea Players That Liverpool Will Need To Watch Out For On Sunday

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp namechecked Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz as Chelsea’s biggest threats heading into the game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Although he emphasised the whole Blues team would present a big challenge to the Premier League champions at the weekend, he did specifically mention the trio as the players who could cause his team the most problems:

“There’s plenty of threats, they’ve signed really well and already had an unbelievably good team. We had to suffer a lot against them in the games last season Christian Pulisic obviously wasn’t involved but he’ll probably be fit for the game, Mason Mount and I know Kai Havertz from the Bundesliga – he will play a proper role this season.”

As Klopp mentions, Pulisic is suffering from a hamstring injury, and it remains to be seen whether the American international will feature after suffering a setback in training last week.

Havertz should start, although Chelsea’s record signing did admit to struggling for fitness after only having a week’s pre-season training before the 3-1 win against Brighton on Monday.

Mount, meanwhile, should be sharp, having played the full 90 minutes at the Amex. If Pulisic doesn’t start, he would be favourite to play off the left flank, going up against Trent Alexander-Arnold.
