Klopp Reveals Training Change As Liverpool Prepare For Behind Closed Door Games

Liverpool have been training at Anfield in order to get used to playing without crowds, manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed.

The Reds may have to play a number of matches at neutral venues due to policing concerns but no matter where they play, Klopp says there will be no advantage for either team:

“We will not have the help from the crowd but no team will have that so where is the advantage? Whoever we play it is the same situation which is why I’m not too worried about it”

“We have tried to simulate the situation by training in the stadium and getting used to it. If you look at Germany, they have not had a lot of home wins. If the alternative is not to play at all, then I will play wherever you want. I don’t care.”

It will be a unique experience for Liverpool’s stars when they face Everton in a Merseyside derby on June 20th. Whether it is at Goodison Park or at another ground, the players will need to get used to playing in empty stadiums.

For that reason, Klopp’s decision to train at Anfield seems like a very shrewd move, although it will be hard to replicate the intensity of a game against a fierce local rival.

Much like all Reds fans, though, Klopp is just happy that football is returning, and with just six points required to lift the title, the motivation will be there to wrap things up as quickly as possible.
