Latest Liverpool Injury News: Updates On Henderson, Matip And Keita

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that both captain Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip have returned to training.

Henderson missed the defeats to Burnley and Manchester United due to a minor muscular injury but he is expected to be in the matchday squad for the game against Spurs tomorrow night.

Matip was rested for the FA Cup clash at Old Trafford on Sunday with the defender’s fitness being carefully managed following a series of injury problems in the first half of the campaign.

Klopp did not say Naby Keita was back in training, though, which suggests that the Guinean international remains sidelined with an ankle injury which has kept him out since the 7-0 win over Crystal Palace before Christmas.

Diogo Jota is expected to return from a knee problem at some point next month while Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez (both knee) are long-term absentees and may not feature again this season.
