Latest Liverpool Injury Report: Updates On Van Dijk, Firmino, Henderson And 4 Other Players

Anfield Stadium

Virgil van Dijk’s hamstring injury is worse than first feared. The Liverpool defender had to be substituted at half-time during the 3-1 defeat to Brentford with what was believed to be a minor issue.

However, the Netherlands captain will now see a specialist to determine how long he will be sidelined for. He is unlikely to play in upcoming fixtures against Wolves, Brighton and Chelsea this month.

Roberto Firmino is still a doubt due to a calf problem he picked up in training a couple of weeks, while James Milner is in the same situation, having sustained a hamstring injury during the loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.

Jordan Henderson should be available for the Wolves clash in the FA Cup. The midfielder had to sit out the Brentford match due to concussion protocols but manager Jurgen Klopp says he expects the 32-year-old to be ready for the weekend.

Arthur Melo (thigh) is said to be ahead of schedule in terms of his return to action but Diogo Jota (calf) and Luis Diaz (knee) are long-term absentees.
