Liverpool are one of the teams “queuing up” to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz, according to Sport1. The German TV station reports the 20-year-old could fetch €100m (£91.5m).

Along with the Reds, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all keen on the German international, while most the Premier League ‘big six’ are also mentioned as potential suitors.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal are believed to be tracking Havertz, who is seen by many as one of the brightest young talents in European football.

As an attacking midfielder, he would be a capable replacement for Philippe Coutinho, having scored 20 goals and provided 7 assists playing mostly as a number 10 last season for Leverkusen.

Barcelona are said to have the slight edge as Havertz is believed to be a childhood Barca fan. Whether the Catalan club would have the funds for the transfer, though, it remains to be seen.
