Liverpool are keeping tabs on Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, according to reports in the Italian media.
Despite the Reds having the Italian international in their sights, it appears the player’s preference would be to stay in Italy.
Inter Milan have reportedly offered €50m for Chiesa, but the 21-year-old apparently has his heart set on a move to Juventus.
The Italian had an excellent season for the Viola, scoring 12 goals and making nine assists in 41 appearances.
Chiesa’s performances have also attracted the likes of Roma and AC Milan, while Chelsea have been long-term admirers of the winger.
Despite the intense speculation surrounding the Italian international’s future, the player himself says he hasn’t been distracted by the transfer rumours.
When asked recently about a potential switch whilst away on international duty, Chiesa said he was happy to be linked with other clubs but he is not currently focusing on negotiating a move away from Fiorentina:
“The interest of certain clubs makes me happy. I’m focused on this while also following what is happening with Fiorentina and the negotiation between the Della Valle [former Fiorentina owner] and Commisso [new Fiorentina owner].”
“How do I handle these offers? I put my cell on airplane mode. So far I have yet to speak to anyone at the club. The announcement that was posted. I repeat I didn’t talk to anyone at the club.”
