Liverpool And Chelsea Both Linked With Shock Move For Wantaway Arsenal Ace

Liverpool and Chelsea are both keeping tabs on Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah’s contract situation, according to 90min.com.

The 22-year-old has rejected multiple offers from the Gunners to extend his current deal, and it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave the Emirates on a free transfer next month.

Considering Nketiah wasn’t even a regular starter for Mikel Arteta’s side until quite recently, it is somewhat surprising that the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have taken an interest in the forward.

However, 90min claims that both teams are looking at the former England Under 21 international as “an attractive squad option”. It’s possible that the fact that he is homegrown may also be a factor.

The reason why Nketiah is keen on leaving Arsenal is due to a lack of game time, so he is probably not interested in sitting on the bench for another team anyway. The likes of Crystal Palace, Brighton, West Ham and Everton are also said to be pursuing the player and those clubs seem to be more likely destinations.
