Liverpool And Other PL Clubs On Alert As Dortmund Refuse To Match German Ace’s 33M Asking Price

Borussia Dortmund will not match Red Bull Salzburg’s asking price for Karim Adeyemi, according to Sky Sport Deutschland.

The German international has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, but Dortmund were always seen as favourites for the player’s signature.

However, the Bundesliga club are unwilling to pay the €40m (£33m) that Salzburg are demanding with Sky reporting that they “do not want to pay more” than €30m (£25m) plus bonuses. They are now considering other options, including Chelsea’s Timo Werner.

It does mean, therefore, that teams like Liverpool now have the opportunity to snap up Adeyemi themselves. Whether the Reds will step up their interest in the 20-year-old, it remains to be seen.

The striker could be considered as a target if the likes of Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino were to leave Anfield this summer. Adeyemi could be seen as a younger replacement for one of the pair, who are closing in on the final twelve months of their contracts.
