Liverpool And PL Rivals Wait For Outcome As Bellingham And Dortmund Set Date For Crunch Talks

Borussia Dortmund and Jude Bellingham will hold “talks before January 6th” to discuss the player’s future, according to AS.

The Spanish publication reports that the Bundesliga side are keen to get things resolved ahead of the team’s mid-season training camp in Marbella.

Bellingham’s father and agent, Mark, family friend Mark Bennett, as well as Hans-Joachim Watzke and Sebastian Kehl, Dortmund’s CEO and sporting director respectively, will attend the meeting.

Liverpool, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City are said to be the four teams vying for the England international’s signature, with the asking price having now been set at €140m (£124m).

This is slightly lower than expected and the fact that Dortmund may only demand €100m (£88.6m) upfront, with €40m (£35.4m) in add-ons, could also help Liverpool to afford the deal.

AS claim, however, that Bellingham prefers a move to Madrid, and Real’s president Florentino Perez’s good relationship with Watzke could also play a part in who wins the race for the teenager, but we shall see if that turns out to be the case.
