Liverpool, Chelsea And United All Miss Out On Signing Of 50K A Week Midfield Anchor Man

Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka has snubbed interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United to remain at the Serie A club, according to reports in the Italian media.

The 27-year-old has been in excellent form this season, playing as the anchor in midfield while Luciano Spalletti’s side have been scoring goals left, right and centre both domestically and in Europe.

It is believed that Lobotka has agreed to sign a contract extension that will keep him at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium until 2028. The player will reportedly be earning around €3m a year, which is approximately £50,000 a week.

Liverpool are on the lookout for options to strengthen in midfield. In addition to Lobotka, they have also been credited with an interest in the likes of Benfica’s Florentino Luis, RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer and even Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong in recent days.

Luckily, for manager Jurgen Klopp, the injury situation in the middle of the park is beginning to ease somewhat, with both Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain having returned to training.
