Liverpool Could Miss Out On 30M Target With Arsenal ‘Increasingly Confident’ They Have Won The Race

Anfield Stadium

Arsenal are “increasingly confident” that they will win the race for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, according to the Daily Star.

The tabloid claims that the Gunners are hopeful of snapping up the 24-year-old for around £30m, beating the likes of Everton, Tottenham and West Ham to his signature.

However, they do not mention Liverpool or Manchester United in the article, which is a bit strange considering both clubs are thought to have made enquiries for Bissouma.

The £30m figure also seems to be on the low side with reports recently suggesting that Brighton owner Tony Bloom has made it clear he won’t sell the Malian international for less than £40m.

It is believed that the Reds see Bissouma as the ideal replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutchman’s contract at Anfield expires in the summer and there is no indication that he will sign an extension that would keep him at the club.
