Liverpool Defender Poised To Leave On Free Transfer As Contract Talks Stall

Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno is likely to leave Anfield at the end of the season when his contract expires, according to reports in the English media.

The Spaniard is closing in on the final six months of his five-year deal with the club, and while discussions were held over a new contract, there has been no progress made.

The Reds are reportedly no longer in discussions with Moreno and his agent. This means that the 26-year-old is almost certain to leave the club at the end of the season with the player considering his options.

He can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from January 1st and it seems likely that a move back to Spain is on the cards.

Reports in the Catalan media have suggested that Barcelona may consider Moreno as a cheap option to become a possible understudy to first choice left-back Jordi Alba at the Camp Nou.
