Liverpool Demand Bundesliga Club Match £10m Asking Price After Approach For Nigerian Ace

Liverpool have slapped a £10m price tag on Taiwo Awoniyi after Bundesliga side Schalke made an approach for the Nigerian striker, according to reports in England.

The 21-year-old has never played for the Reds due to work permit issues but he has been impressing during a loan spell in Belgium.

Awoniyi is currently with Pro League side Mouscron, and he has been in scintillating form, scoring six goals in his last seven league appearances.

The youngster had scored just three times in the first half of the season, but following the winter break, he has been lethal in front of goal.

Schalke are not the only team monitoring the forward’s situation. Hertha Berlin, Mainz and Club Brugge are also interested, while Nice and Toulouse would like the player on loan.

Awoniyi joined Liverpool in 2015 after moving from the Imperial Academy in Nigeria. He has had five loan spells since then, including two at Mouscron.
