Liverpool Given Transfer Boost As Romano Provides New Update On Chelsea Ace’s Future

Mount

Liverpool target Mason Mount is no closer to signing a new contract with Chelsea, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The journalist claims there is a “big gap” between the two sides, and the chances of the player leaving Stamford Bridge this summer are increasing:

Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle are also said to be keeping tabs on Mount’s situation but it has been reported that the midfielder would favour a move to Anfield if he does leave the Blues at the end of the season.

It should be pointed out that the 24-year-old’s preference would be to remain at Chelsea, but it appears a sale will be considered by the club if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new deal.

Mount is said to be earning around £80,000 a week but, with the likes of Raheem Sterling earning four times that, it’s understandable why the player is holding out for a better offer.
