Liverpool target Jesper Lindstrom is “not among” Arsenal’s top transfer targets, according to the Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.
Reports in the German media had linked the Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder with a €30m (£26m) move to the Emirates, but it looks as if the Gunners won’t be making a concerted effort to sign the Danish international.
With that being the case, it will give Jurgen Klopp’s side a clearer run to secure Lindstrom’s signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has had a good season for Frankfurt, having scored nine goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances. Whether the Reds actually need a player of his profile, though, is another matter.
Lindstrom’s preference is to play as part of a front three, which is not an area of the pitch that Liverpool need to reinforce. Even when Roberto Firmino leaves Anfield in June, there will still be six forwards in the first-team squad, including Fabio Carvalho.
